Wood we can stand behind

The timber we use matters — not just for the quality of the finished piece, but for the forests it comes from. At Mungo and Co, we source our wood carefully and locally, working with suppliers who share our values.

Our timber partner: Albion Timber, Sheffield

We work closely with Albion Timber, a traditional timber yard based in Sheffield. They're a business that takes provenance seriously — knowing where their wood comes from, how it was grown, and how it was harvested.

Working with a local, independent timber yard means we can ask those questions directly and get straight answers. It also means shorter supply chains, less transport, and a relationship built on trust rather than just transactions.

Why sustainable timber matters

Wood is one of the most sustainable materials on the planet — when it's managed responsibly. Trees lock in carbon, support biodiversity, and regenerate when forests are properly managed. Choosing sustainably sourced timber means the pieces we make today don't come at the expense of the forests of tomorrow.

We choose hardwoods that are slow-grown and dense — which is exactly what makes them beautiful, durable, and worth making into something that lasts a lifetime.

Built to last

The most sustainable product is one you never need to replace. Every Mungo and Co piece is made to be used, cared for, and kept — not discarded. That's the most honest sustainability commitment we can make.
