Meet Mungo
Many people ask where the name Mungo & Co comes from.
The answer is simple: Mungo.
Mungo was a rescue dog who joined our family at around two years old. Small in stature but enormous in character, he quickly became part of everything we did.
The Original Boss
When the time came to name the business, there was never really much debate.
Mungo had already established himself as workshop supervisor, chief quality controller, professional stick collector and full-time companion. The business simply grew around him.
Whether he was keeping watch over a project, greeting visitors or ensuring no snack went unclaimed, he was always nearby.
More Than a Name
For the next fourteen years Mungo was a constant presence.
He inspired the values that still guide the business today: loyalty, patience, craftsmanship and taking pleasure in the simple things.
The name above the door may be Mungo & Co, but in many ways Mungo was the heart behind it.
Hanging Up the Apron
In 2026, at around sixteen years old, Mungo finally hung up his workshop apron and headed off to his happy hunting ground, where the sticks are free and the snacks are plentiful.
He leaves behind an empty space, countless memories and a business that would not exist in quite the same way without him.
