Fire or Rescue? — Workshop Challenge No.1
Every now and then, a piece of timber lands in the workshop that's too interesting to ignore — but not quite right for anything we already make. Too small for a board, too unusual for a shelf, too good for the fire.
So we put it in your hands.
The Oak Candle Holder or Not?
This odd, characterful lump of solid oak was looking for an idea. It was roughly the right size for a candle holder — but we were open to being surprised.
The Winner: Steve Peto
Steve had a better idea than a candle holder. He designed a banana hanger — making clever use of the oak's shape and character. We loved it immediately.
